Let's say that you have downloaded a large MIDI file from the Internet, which contains several songs in the same file. You may want to cut the MIDI file and create individual MIDI files, each containing a single song. This can only be performed using a specialized application, as Windows doesn't come with a specialized tool for this. Programs like MidiCutter can help you in this situation, as it allows you to easily trim any MIDI file and create several files from it.

The application does not need to be installed, but it requires Java Runtime Environment in order to run. After running the application, the user will just need to import the desired MIDI file into the program's interface. After importing the file, one will be able to split it into several parts, by selecting the start and end positions, using the graphical buttons included in the interface.

An unlimited number of start and end positions can be defined using MidiCutter. After splitting the MIDI file, the user will be able to preview each part, for making sure that everything is in order, before saving the MIDI files.
